Home makeovers don't have to be expensive or overwhelming. A couple of coats of paint can make a huge transformation and be budget-friendly, too. With some important guidelines and helpful hints, you'll be on your way to a beautiful new space! Check out how I painted these old farmhouse kitchen cabinets for a completely different look.

Okay....I also changed out the microwave here, but eww..... it was totally necessary. This is two coats of white all-in-one furniture paint. It's not cheap at around $16 per pint but for this section of cabinets, it was a miracle for less than $40. It eliminates the need for sanding and creates an easy-to-clean surface. The first coat I brushed on to make sure to get all the corners and crevices. The second coat I used a foam brush for the crevices and then finished with a small foam finish roller.

This was a short-term makeover where we weren't able to change out the entire set of cabinets until a later date. Design is also about prioritizing the budget. Paint is like your secret weapon when fighting a tight budget. It can be your miracle in a bucket (or genie in a bottle!).
